The Board of Directors is ANAW’s top decision making organ with the key responsibility of governance while the executive director is responsible for daily operational activities and the liaison between the board and the staff.
Apart from playing the other two critical roles of general oversight and policy development, the board members are expected to use their connections to spur interest in and support of the organization as well as engage in fund raising activities that include major donor solicitations, sponsorship solicitations, membership recruitment, and efforts to boost event registrations. The board is the primary force behind the organization’s strategic planning decisions, updating and evaluating implementation plan presented by staff.
