Snare Art : Spider

Spiders are air-breathing arthropods that have eight legs, and chelicerae modified into fangs that inject venom.

As of 2008, approximately 40,000 spider species, and 109 families have been recorded by taxonomists.

Spiders have a narrow gut that can only cope with liquid food and spiders have two sets of filters to keep solids out. The best-known method of prey capture is by means of sticky webs.
Spiders occur in a large range of sizes. Some are as small as 0.37 mm in body while some have body lengths up to 90 mm (about 3.5 inches) and leg spans up to 250 mm (about 10 inches).

Spiders are some of the commonly encountered animal during de-snaring patrols that the team have to be cautious of.
