Trapped in the Wild: The Agony of Ensnared Animals

Poachers often set up snares - wire nooses that trap and often kill any animal unlucky enough to cross their path - along wildlife routes. Animals caught in snares struggle frantically to escape, often becoming dismembered, or strangled in the process. Those ensnared or non-fatally injured suffer immensely before death.
